Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town situated on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. Many people who don't know this name believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually this is not the case. West Island includes everything westward from Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel was raised in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. She was determined to become a professional dancer but due to a rapid expansion, she outgrew every one of her dancing colleagues. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6'1 inch. After I outgrew the males in my group, I decided to quit. Many former dancers turn into acting and Brugel wasn't an exception. A drama teacher at her high school encouraged her in the direction she needed. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the annual school production. After a few auditions, she ended up as the main character of Anne of Green Gables. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program in 2000. She graduated from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Since then, for the more than 20 years since Brugel was offered roles in over 60 plays on both screens, attracting the most attention after she was offered the role of Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian participant in the season 1 of the show and was she was only seen on occasion.
